How to handle,Control, and eliminate stress by not worrying

Dealing head On with "Worry"

"People with Anxieties and Depression often have worried themselves into these conditions."

To Worry is Normal

We all worry about things but most of us tend to take actions on those worries to eliminate our fear or doubt about situations. As an example:

When one of our children goes out at night on a date but doesn't return home at the agreed time we start to worry about them and become concerned as if something might have happened. Our reaction to eliminate that worry is to pick up a phone and call them or the parents of their date to check up on them. In doing so we have taken action against the worry we have.

Some people worry so much that they sit and wonder as ill thoughts and circumstances float through their mind as they think of the worst case scenarios. This type of Worry is very emotionally draining and causes a level of stress that is unhealthy. So you can see that simply calling was the first step to dealing with Worry and Stress.

Worry without Control

If you can't control the situation then don't worry about it. You have to learn how to trust people and believe more on the positive side of things instead of the negative. To worry and not take action is a waste of your time and a detrament to your health.

I have a friend who smokes about a pack of cigs a day and his biggest worry is having a hard attack. He dwells upon it like a bug to a night light but yet he does nothing to prevent his worry. He gets stressed out over it when in reality he should take control and quit or stop worrying. When you play in a street full of traffic then your bound to get hit so isn't it best to get out of the street?

For every example of worry that you have or have had there is an easy way to eliminate or control it. On a piece of paper write down all the most common worries you have or have recently visited with. Then write down next to them what you should have done to eliminate or prevent it from happening. Once you have seen how easy it is to remove these worries on paper you will be able to easily achieve them in real life.

If you have no control over a particular worry where there is no way in hell you could eliminate it on paper then chances are you need to learn to let it go. Worry without control is just someone opening up a can of stress on purpose. When you find yourself in this situation find something else to do and keep your mind busy. Almost 95% or better is about the amount of times you worried for no reason at all. Your missing dog was found, your child made it home, your boss didn't fire you, Should I go on? The list is so long and the percentages say stop being a worry wart.

Worrying about the future

I can understand about being concerned about things such as your health, Global warming, and your retirement. But when you worry about it when you refuse to take action I find it ridiculious to say the least. To top it off as you worry without control it does nothing to help your causes one bit. Look towards the future with a pair of positive eyes knowing that mankind changes with the times. Yes things will get bad andthen again they also get better. See the glass half full instead of half empty and you will live a longer happier life.

Plan of action

Paper, pencil, and a plan is the best way to tackle most of the worries you will ever have in your life. By taking action on all of them and organizing your concerns you will improve your life and that of your families because you will be able to fix whatever happens with a bit of planning and organizational skills. Get your life together and live it instead of letting it drive you six feet under.
